The Facts about the ABA Pension rights issue:

1. The REAL ABA created the modern NBA Game including the 3-pointer, fast pace, high flying play. All star weekend, slam dunk competition and more all owe a debt to the ABA.
2. ABA players were promised equal rights to the NBA players during the MERGER and have been ignored ever since. They should have had full pension rights like their NBA brethren. This is the key issue in the ABA pension battle.
3. The NBA settled with the pre-1965 players (majority of who are white) and have ignored the ABA players (coincidentally mostly African-American).
4. ABA players would settle for the same pension and rights as the pre-1965, even though they DESERVE the same rights as the NBAers of the SAME TIME PERIOD. ABA Pension should equal the NBA Pension.
5. It was a MERGER!!! Anyone one with a modicum of business sense knows what that means.
6. Because the players are ill-equipped to fight for their rights (most in dire financial straits) against the BILLION DOLLAR NBA, does NOT mean their rights should be ignored.
7. Every year more  ABA players die without justice. The NBA knows that if they “wait it out” the problem will be solved for them since they will ALL BE DEAD!
8. It would cost so little to make things right, which makes their evil ignoring of this, far more horrific.
9. This is worse than the Sterling scandal!
